WHAT IS IT?
Musicbuilder.com's Virtual Music System, VMS for short, has two main features. The first
feature gives any artist who joins Musicbuilder.com the ability to offer their fans near
production quality CDs with no up front investment. All Artist VMS CDs are manufactured to
order using the MP3s that the artist uploads to the site. All music files uploaded to
Musicbuilder must be encoded in MPEG Layer III format at a bitrate of anywhere between
112k and 256k.The newest and most exciting
feature of our Virtual Music System gives music fans the ability to mix and match
different Musicbuilder artists onto one or more custom CDs. How does this work? Well, when
an artist has a song set to sell at a certain price you'll see a "buy song"
button next to that song in their track list. Clicking these "buy song" buttons
will bring up a frame at the bottom of your browser window which will show a running total
of the songs you're adding to your cart. Now, let's say that you just added 18 songs by
various Musicbuilder artists. You can now press the "check out" button located
on the right side of the bottom frame. Doing this will take you to a page that asks if
you'd like to recieve the items in your shopping cart on VMS CD/CDs.
If you select "no" then you will be taken to our secure order form. Once
the order is complete your selected tracks will be moved to a private download directory
where you will be able to download your seleceted tracks individually in MP3 format.
If you select "yes" a $4.95 per CD manufacturing charge will be added to
your total and you will be taken to the VMS Setup page. Here you can name your CD/CDs,
arrange the track order and select cover art. In the future we'll be adding the ability to
upload and store your own cover art via MyMusicBuilder. Once complete you will be taken to
our secure order form.
Once we process the order, your CD/CDs will be manufactured
and thermally printed with the CD title, artist and song/track listing. The CD will then
be jewelcased with full color insert, traycard and spines.
